Data Engineering Centre
The Centre’s remit is to initiate and carry out project and implementation work on IT systems for research and subject-specific databases, based on innovative software solutions, in cooperation with the relevant departments of the Office and public statistics bodies.
In particular, the Centre’s tasks include:
- identifying and analysing opportunities for utilising new technologies and data sources;
- carrying out development work on processes for transforming and integrating data from various sources;
- streamlining the production of statistical data in its area of specialisation in cooperation with the Centre for Non-Financial Enterprise Performance and Foreign Trade;
- automating data feeding processes, creating relational and multidimensional structures for data warehouses and statistical databases in conjunction with the statistical metadata system;
- cooperating with other centres on the compilation of data for publication and the fulfilment of orders;
- carrying out, in cooperation with the Centre for Non-Financial Enterprises and Foreign Trade, programming work on the development and maintenance of IT systems for surveys;
- administering the database and hardware infrastructure used in the Centre’s day-to-day operations;
- cooperating with the Centre for the Development of Communication Tools on the design and implementation of innovations within the Office.
